Fifty Shades of Sexy-time

The other week I fell in love.

His name is Christian. He's in his twenties, is strong and stubbly and what's more, Mikee is totally fine with him. In fact, it was actually down to him that we met. We spent many hours in bed together, getting extremely hot under the collar. He was pretty amazing.

Oh, did I forget to mention that he's fictional?

(It's probably best that I warn you here that there will be spoilers as well as some naughty references, young readers - avert your eyes.)

Christian Grey. He isn't actually dissimilar to Mikee. Apart from the fact that Mikee isn't a billionaire.

Oh, and he isn't the BDSM king of the south.

Whilst the trilogy of books (Fifty Shades of Grey) were far fetched and at many points completely unbelievable, I found myself unable to put them down. The thing that got me is that these books were originally intended for lovers of 'Twilight'. Now, whilst I've never read or watched the series, I can't image Edward strapping Bella to a cross whilst he whips her chest. I may have been more inclined to have read the books had th... no, nothing could convince me to read 'Twilight'.

As I've mentioned, the books are far fetched. Here's an example:

"Mia is on her feet before Christian can protest. His jaw tenses, I know he's not pleased. Quite frankly, neither am I. I have. . . . needs."

Needs? NEEDS?! You've had sex about twelve times that day already. It takes most couples over a month to achieve that.

Smug cow.

Another example?

"Anastasia, do you have any idea how much money I make? ............. Anastasia, I earn roughly one hundred thousand dollars an hour."

Yeah? Well I make £6.08 an hour, before taxes. Go fuck yourself Christian Grey!

And there, folks, is my very 'detailed' review of Fifty Shades of Grey. Don't read it if you're single. Or get annoyed by repetitive phrases, or grammar errors.

Have you read the books? What did you think? Let me know!

Haha love this! I just had lunch with a friend who was telling me about these books.. I absolutely must pick one up, even though I'm single.... It sounds as if it could be fun! ;) Xx

After reading a few similar "reviews" I've decided to just steer clear of this series. Plus, I tend to avoid popular series anyway. I'm a book hipster like that.

Kathy you must read it. It's a real page turner. You'll quiver in your knickers. Oh reflection, it doesn't matter if you're single. You have hands after all, don't you ;)

Jay, that's fair enough, I know a few people who feel the same! Please tell me you read Harry Potter though. . .
